LEONARD J. KRAS DEMOTTE, IN Leonard J. Kras age 88, passed away on November 4, 2014. Leonard was born on November 1, 1926 in Hammond, IN. Survived by children, Daniel (Doris), Demotte, IN; Janice (Lee) Darrell, Hobart, IN; Lawrence, Haltom City, TX; and Paul (Kim) of Pawnee, IL; brothers, Al Kras of Highland; Joseph (Mary) of Griffith; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Virginia; granddaughter, Allyson; parents, Joseph and Anna Kras, brothers: Julian (Josephine), Stephen (Lillian), Buck (Florence), Albert (Stephanie), Henry (Delores), Edward (Rose) and Peter Kras; sisters: Helen (Andy) Zvyak, Francis (William) McCree and Maybell Kras. For 62 years, 3 months, and 10 days, Leonard worked at Hammond Machine where he started working while in high school. He worked his way up to Vice President and retired in May 2006. He also served in the US Navy 1945-1946 aboard the USS Lyman K. Swenson. Leonard was a resident of Lowell, IN and before that Dyer for 28 years where he raised his family. He enjoyed working around his house and of course his bowling. He was a member of St. Edward's Church in Lowell. Visitation, Friday, November 7, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave. in Lowell. A Mass of Christian Burial held Saturday, 11AM at St. Edward Catholic Church followed with burial in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leonard's granddaughter's ministry, Pioneer Bible Translators (Ministry of Philip and Sarah). www.sheetsfuneral.com

So sorry to hear of Lenny's passing .
What a hard worker and kind gentleman he was .
