Albert "Dean" Mason

Dean Mason passed away peacefully after a battle with Alzheimer's on November 7 in the company of his Daughter Dawn and friends. He was a chemist for DuPont for 32 years after serving as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. His service ended in Germany where he met his wife of 51 years.
The love of his life predeceased him in 2001, he is survived by four children, Dean Mason, Dave Mason, Dale Jones and Dawn Mulgrew. Also 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a large number of people who were family to him.
A beloved and sweet spirited man never without a smile on his face and a desire to make people laugh, will be missed by all whose life was touched by him. A lifetime fan of the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, and Golden State Warriors.
A Memorial Service and Honor Guard will be held Thursday Nov. 13, 2014 at 11:00AM at Oakmont Memorial Park and Mortuary located at 2099 Reliez Valley Road in Lafayette, CA in the Redwood Chapel; followed by a celebration of his life at the home of Tim and Dawn Mulgrew in Martinez.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in support of Hospice of the East Bay, who were wonderful and supportive to the family.
