Holliday, Betty Murle
Betty Murle Holliday, 90, Baileys Harbor, died Saturday, November 8.
She was born April 22, 1924, in Waukegan, Illinois, the daughter of Fred Lee and Elizabeth Dorothy (Wartzenluft) Naden.
Betty grew up in Zion, Illinois. In 1947 she met and married the love of her life, James Morris (Bud) Holliday. They raised three children in Zion while Bud owned and operated a water conditioning business in Waukegan, Illinois. In 1975 they sold the business and enjoyed many years of travel, Door County being a frequent destination. They moved from Zion to Baileys Harbor in 1996.
Betty was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. In addition to being the best mother ever, Betty enjoyed golfing and traveling with Bud. Betty has always been very active in her church and for years was very involved with the Girl Scouts of America.
Betty is survived by her older sister, Aldene Nordmark, of Green Oaks, Illinois, and her adoring children, Nancy (Robert) Callis, of Boulder, Colorado; Joan (Bryan Nelson) Holliday of Baileys Harbor; and Bill (Kathy) Holliday of Rockford, Illinois; and grandchildren Sam Nelson, and David, Benjamin, Alina, John Daniel and Cecily Holliday. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 29, at Zion United Methodist Church, Fish Creek, at noon. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, PO Box 168, Egg Harbor, WI 54209. Online condolences may be offered at www.caspersonfuneralhome.com
