PAULSEN, Helen M. (Joyce) Age 89, of Brockton, died November 10, 2014 at St. Joseph Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Paulsen. Helen was born and raised in Boston, daughter of the late Michael J. and Annie T. (Laffey) Joyce. She was a graduate of the Boston School for the Deaf in Randolph and was a resident of Brockton since 1970. She worked in various local laundries including Aveni Cleaners in Holbrook. Helen enjoyed spending her free time with her family, especially time with her grandchildren and sewing. Helen is survived by two sons Paul M. Paulsen and his wife Ann of Whitman and James D. Paulsen of Brockton and his former wife Paula Paulsen of Cape Cod. She leaves four grandchildren Kevin Paulsen, Maura DeAvila, Jeremey Paulsen and Sonya Paulsen and 5 great grandchildren. She is survived by one brother Michael Joyce of Jamaica Plain and her longtime friend Diane Phipps of Kingston. Helen was predeceased by her twin sister Maggie, brothers John and Thomas Joyce and sisters Mary Spence, Anna Colton, and Theresa Miller. Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) BROCKTON on Friday from 10-11am concluding with a funeral home service at 11am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Very sorry to hear about your loss ; I did not hear the message you left me Monday on my cell phone until tonight. I contacted some of our cousins . Very sorry to have missed the service. My mother, Mary (Joyce ) Spence was very close to your mother, and talked about her often. Again , very sorry I missed the message as I know you were relying on me to pass this along to the other cousins.
