CRAIG Kay Vaughan Bartram, 76, passed away peacefully at home in Savannah, Georgia on November 15, 2014 after a short illness. Kay was born April 29, 1938 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late R. D. Vaughan and Muriel (nee' Sutton). Kay is survived by her current husband, Lt Col USMC Frederick B. Craig, Ret., of Savannah; a son, Kent Bartram (and partner Terry Wittenberg) of Chicago; her supportive former husband, David Bartram (and companion Carolyn Music) of Fernandina Beach, Florida; and numerous friends. Kay was a well-known plein-air artist in Coastal Georgia and North Florida and was active in numerous charities. She was a 1956 graduate of Charleston High School where she reigned as Charleston Teen Queen of 1954, and attended the University of Kentucky where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. Before her retirement as an artist in the south, Kay was a homemaker, journalist, avid golfer and successful real estate agent. A former member of Medinah Country Club (in suburban Chicago), she oversaw the annual yearbook and used her amateur singing talents to entertain in an annual fundraiser. Services will be private. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her name in support of a cause close to her heart - Cats Angels of Fernandina Beach, Florida (http://www.catsangels.com/). The family also wishes to thank the angels of Hospice Savannah and Cheriese McCoy and her team at Your Choice Personal Assisting who made Kay so comfortable during her transition.
