Ruth Valera Erickson passed away on Tuesday Oct. 14, 2014, in Riverside CA. at the age of 97. Ruth was born in Akeley, Minnesota on Feb. 18, 1917 to Jessie and Minnie McMurtrie. Ruth married Otto Erickson in 1938 in Hibbing, Minnesota; they brought their family to Nevada in 1951.

After her husband died, Ruth moved from Sparks to Fernley. In 2009 she moved to CA. Ruth Erickson is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Otto, her son Ronald and her granddaughters Kristine Cahill and Jessica Erickson. She is survived by her children: Valera Cahill, Ed Erickson, Judy Keathley, a sister Carol Eslinger, by 10 granddaughters, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She will always be loved and missed by her family and friends.

A Memorial Service will beheld at Ross Burke and Knobel Mortuary Reno on November 24th at 11:00am and an internment at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley will follow the service.
