Walker, Clifford C.
Clifford Clarke Walker, 87, of Newtown, died November 29, after a courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong Newtown resident, he was born on May 31, 1927, to Edna Pearl (Canfield) and Clarke Skidmore Walker. Cliff was a 1945 graduate of Hawley School. He then graduated in 1949 from the University of Bridgeport with an Associate of Arts Degree. Mr. Walker also graduated in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the UCONN School of Pharmacy. He worked at Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown as Director of Pharmacy for 38 years from 1954 - 1992.
An avid railroad enthusiast, he loved and was known for his meticulously detailed HO gauge train layout. He was a member of Newtown Congregational Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marie (Ferris) Walker; his three children, daughter Darlene and her husband Andy Spencer, son Dale and his wife Carol Walker, daughter Linda and her husband Steven Uhde; and his three grandchildren, Karla Sypek, Jeffrey Spencer and Adam Uhde.
The family is grateful for the help and support of Visiting Angels and Regional Hospice. Calling hours will be from 4-7pm, Tuesday, December 2, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Funeral Services will be held at Honan Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 3, at 11am. Interment at Newtown Village Cemetery will follow. I was so saddened to read of Cliff's passing as we were such good and professional friends for many years. He abilities as a pharmacist was a key to the success of Fairfield Hospital for so many years. My condolences to Marie and her family.
