Mr. David Hugh Boulware, age 61, of Dahlonega, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with inurnment to be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The Rev. Edmond Miller, Kent Sanford and Joe Ingram will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at the funeral home.
David was born Sept. 28, 1953, in Gallatin, Tenn., the son of the Mona (Phillips) Boulware Burke-Abney and the late Charles Boulware. He graduated from Gainesville High School, Class of 1971. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He attended G.J. College and graduated from North Georgia College, graduating with an accounting degree. He worked with Alexander and Felton CPA and started in banking in 1982, working with Gainesville National Bank and various other banks but most recently, New Horizon Bank, until his retirement. David spent his career in banking, building a customer base and lifelong friendships along the way. He understood the personal needs in banking and loved what he did.
In his earlier years, David had a passion for the Boys Club and supported it for many years as a volunteer. His true joy in life was spending time with his family. His grandchildren in particular always held a special place in his heart as their PawPaw David.
David is survived by his wife, Teresa (Bryan) Boulware; mother and stepfather, Mona Burke-Abney and Jessie; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Suzanne Boulware; daughter, Abbie Sherrill, all of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Douglas, Lily, Alice and Brayden; sister and brother-in-law, Felicia and Andy Anderson of Acworth; brother and sister-in-law, John and Muriel Boulware of Austin, Texas; and special aunt, Betty Thurman of Sacramento, Ky.
