CAMERON, Elizabeth Joyce (Bess)
Bess was born in Cherhill, AB on February 6, 1928 and passed away suddenly, but peacefully, in her home on the family farm in Leduc on December 5, 2014.
The youngest of the six children of George and Clara Allen, Bess worked her whole life, selflessly helping her family. Growing up, she did chores out on the farm, before moving to Salmon Arm. Then, as a beautiful young bride, she rejoiced in building a happy home for her loving husband, Bob, and their three children.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (John) Bryson, and sons Robert (Jody) and Gordon Cameron; six grandchildren: Suzanne Flett, Melanie (Hien) Lu, Jeff and Josh Bryson, and Taylor and Cole Cameron; as well as two great- grandchildren: Finn and Penelope Lu.
Bess is predeceased by her husband Bob, as well as her brothers and sisters, Winnie, Ted, Doris, George and Len, as well as her grandson-in-law, Rob Flett.
Always a lady, Bess was a keen observer of people. Although shy, quiet and unassuming, Bess was well respected by all who knew her. She was a skilled and efficient homemaker; renowned for her competence, organization and endless productivity. Christmas was her favourite season and this year she was busy baking, pickling and sharing her famous lemon butter with those she loved. She made and retained many solid friendships and maintained those close relationships through regular visiting and written correspondence.
Bess could always be counted upon for her wise advice, calm support and gentle humour. She will be sadly missed, but she lives on in our memories as a caring and devoted parent, grandparent, great- grandparent, and cherished friend.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation or a charity of choice would be much appreciated.
Her ashes will be interred alongside her dear husband Bob's near her family's plot at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be held in the spring to share in her love of the outdoors where she and Bob spent many cheery years camping in Alberta and British Columbia.

Bess, you and Bob were like second parents to me. Always welcoming, always interested in my life and family just as you were with your own. You amazed me with your tenacity - knitting, canning right to the end! Always bright and cheery. And little sayings I will carry with me always. You know what they are. You will be missed. Lovingly remembered, Annie

To all the Cameron family:
How blessed you were to have your Grandmother/Mother for such a large part of your lives. Still making fruit cake in her last days -how wonderful for all concerned. That we could all hope for such a life and legacy. Blessings to all of you and may Bess rest in peace.
