Charles B. Thomas, 88, former Bartlesville resident, died at 1:42 A.M. on Sunday December 7, 2014 in Borger, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday December 11, 2014 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pat Hailey of Pawhuska officiating. Interment will be in the Ramona Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Charles Byron Thomas was born on June 28, 1926 at LaCygne, Kansas the son of Charles and Dorothy (Breshears) Thomas. He married Laura Smith in 1945 and they divorced in 1962. In 1969 he married Larvilla Graves his second wife and she preceded him in death in 1980 he then married his third wife Ruth Johnson in 1982 and she preceded him in death in 2002. He was a barber and a long standing ordained minister, he had been the minister for the Ramona House of Prayer and also at the Avant House of Prayer. While in Avant he served as Mayor and also as the city judge. When his health failed he moved in with his daughter Hope in Pawhuska for a short time and then moved to Fritch, Texas in July of 2007 to be with his daughter Rebecca and his future son-in-law Claude Brown, Jr. and his granddaughter until moving to the nursing home.
Charles is survived by five daughters, Rebecca Perry of Fritch, Texas, Billie Jean Thomas of Pawhuska, Thomasa Carol Davenport of Salina, Oklahoma, Dorthea White of Copan, Minnie Hope Brothers of Pawhuska, four sons, Darrell Venable of Silsbee, Texas, Charles Anthony Thomas of Bartlesville, Glenn Venable of Pryor and Mark Gregory Thomas of Coweta. And several grandchildren, He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wives and one daughter, Charlotte Rae Thomas of Pawhuska who died March 4, 2012.
