Services will be at a later date for Franklin J. McLain, age 99 of Brainerd who died Monday at Good Samaritan Bethany Home of Brainerd. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.
Franklin was born October 18, 1915 in Minneapolis to Harry and Theresa (Glaser) McLain. He married Verna Jenny in Minneapolis on June 24, 1950 and lived in North Minneapolis most of his life. Franklin was a Welder/Mechanic for the City of Minneapolis, retiring in June of 1969. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth (Patricia) McLain of Brainerd; step-daughters, Linda (Jim) Wyner of Rice and Jennifer (Ron) Wellen of Foley; five nieces and nephews; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; five great grandchildren; fifteen step-great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Franklin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Verna on August 5, 1999; brother, Albert McLain; sister, Elizabeth Fontana; step-son, Michael Busch; and step-grandson, James Wyner.
