Rita Alexander Barr, 87, of Spring Hill, KS died December 13, 2014. Visitation is scheduled Friday, December 19th at 6-8 pm, Funeral Service is 2 pm on Saturday December 20th at McGilley & George Funeral Home in Belton. Burial in Belton Cemetery. Contributions to Shawnee Reformed Presbyterian Church 6835 Pflumm Rd. Shawnee, KS 66216 Rita was born June 24, 1927 in East Leavenworth, MO to Raymond and Marie Alexander. She was a member of the Shawnee Reformed Presbyterian Church. Rita graduated from Platte City High School and Central Missouri State. She taught Home Economics in the Harrisonville Schools and was a lifelong teacher through 4-H, Sunday School and Bible studies. She was a trusted friend, incredible cook, wonderful seamstress, and a life example for her children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Richard Barr, daughter Linda Barr, twin sister Rhea Seba, sister Martha Horseman, brother Raymond Alexander, Jr, and granddaughter Katie Lynn De Kam. Survived by daughters Malinda Barr, Peculiar, MO, Jeanette Veltkamp (Phil) and Laura De Kam (Ken) both of Belton and grandchildren Chad, Timothy, Douglas, Isaac and Stephen Veltkamp, Kendall and Kaitlyn De Kam. My sympathy to the family. Rita was my father's (John E. Alexander) first cousin. It has been many years since I last saw her. She was always so nice to me as a little boy. She is fondly rememberd.
