Elaine Baker, a surviving cousin of Mabel, always spoke lovingly of their relationship when growing up. They were like sisters, according to Elaine, who lived with them for a time. Elaine currently lives at Maple View nursing home in Owen Sound Ontario, where I worked as the chaplain and she has shared her sadness upon learning of Mabel's death. On her behalf, I send condolences to the family.

Tom and I always enjoyed visiting with Aunt Mabel in Montreal on our way through. What a lovely woman! She will be definitely missed as well by Elaine Baker, who loved Mabel like a sister, and has talked fondly of her in the past couple of years, as she remembers their shared childhood.
