Julius Paul Skalka, 85, of Toms River, passed on Monday, December 22, 2014 at his home. Born in New York, NY he lived in South River, NJ before moving to Toms River 1990. Paul retired from Time Life in New York as Director of Books & Music after many years. He was a parishioner of St Luke RC Church, Toms River, were he was a Eucharistic Minister and Lay Reader. He was active in Greenbriar Woodlands Community and enjoyed golf and tennis.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris, two sons Paul and his wife Anne, Gerard and his wife Patricia, his three daughters Doris and her husband Sean Quinn, Catherine and her husband George Packard and Mary Skalka. He leaves his brother Rudolph, 9 grand children, Riley, Michael, Kate, Christine, Ryan, David, Courtney, Erin and Kyle and one great grandson James.
Visiting will be Sunday 1:00 - 5:00 pm at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd, Toms River. Funeral Mass Monday 10:30 am, St Luke RC Church, Toms River, arrive at the funeral home 9:30 am, entombment to follow Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. www.silvertonmemorial.com

Sorry to hear about Paul. I remember you both from Corpus Christi Church. You did a lot to make the school a great place

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Skalka. I will always have great memories of the times spent with all of the Skalka family from camping to backyard BBQ to simple visits. God be with you all and in His care.
