Joyce Geringer
Joyce L. Geringer, 81, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Columbia, Ill., born Feb. 13, 1933, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, in Charlotte, N.C.
Joyce was a long time resident of Columbia, Ill., having moved to Panama City Beach, Fla., in 1998, and then to Charlotte, N.C. in 2007. She was a charter member of Christ Community Church, Columbia, Ill., and had been employed for many years by Taake Insurance Co., Columbia, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert L. Geringer, who passed away July 6, 2004; a son, Stephen Miller; and her parents, Charles and Ruby, nee Story, Phillips.
Surviving are her children, James (Joyce) Miller of Florida, Larry (Carol) Dornin of Missouri, Gary (Donna) Dornin of Missouri, Scott (Shannon) Geringer of Waterloo, Ill., and Debbie (Joe) Shaffman of North Carolina; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Cochran; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at the funeral home, with Rev. William Groennert officiating. Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, Ill.
