Thomas Edward Linton Jr.
Thomas Edward Linton Jr. passed away, surrounded by family, on January 3, 2015 at his home in Crawfordville, FL from complications with bone cancer.
Thomas was born in St. Marks, FL in 1927 and was raised in Lake Wales and Wakulla County. He served in the Navy during WWII and returned home to meet and marry his wife of 64 years, Elsie "Jean" Rudd Linton. He worked for the City of Tallahassee as an electrician for 10 years before purchasing a farm in Chipley, FL to pursue the quiet life of farming. After 23 years of farming he sold the property and retired to Crawfordville. He fished and helped family and friends with projects until his death. Thomas is survived by his wife, 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Iris Shores and Emily Haynie, also of Crawfordville, are his two daughters. Thomas E. "Eddy" Linton III, his son, resides in Pompano Beach, FL. He is also survived by 1 brother, Stanley Linton, 1 sister, Coleen Gibson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Lake Ellen Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 1pm followed by the service at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Boulevard, Tallahassee, FL 32308 (850-878-5310).
