Donaldson, Bert Lee Passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Byron Manor, in Byron Center, Michigan. Bert was born February 16, 1934, in Niles, Michigan, the son of the late Bert S. and Helene (Skalla) Donaldson. Bert was a Veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Congregational Church; and a member of the Elks. He loved to play golf, was an avid Spartan fan, an enjoyed a wonderful sense of humor. Bert worked as an Asst. Superintendent for the Allegan County ISD Special Education; an Interim Superintendent for the School of the Blind in Lansing; a consultant for the Michigan Dept. of Education. He received his PHD from Michigan State University in 1974. Surviving are his wife: Norma; his two children: Lynn Donaldson, and Bert Donaldson; three grandchildren: Taylor, Dusty, and Deidre; three brothers: Theodore, Charles, and Robert; his sister: Joyce Stanton; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, from 12 noon till time of service at 2pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com. Pastor Barry Lucas will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Congregational Kitchen, 323 Cutler St., Allegan, MI 49010.
