Sosna Kathryn T. "Kathie" Sosna, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 after a valiant battle against cancer at age 85, days short of her 86th birthday. She was surrounded by family and died peacefully in the safe confines of Riverside Hospital's hospice floor and its caring staff. Mom loved family and friends of course but also had a special appreciation for all animals big and small and was a supporter of children in less fortunate locales around the world and wounded veterans. She lived life to its fullest appreciating every moment particularly celebrations with family and friends. Laughter was her constant companion and faith and church was her strength, particularly her relationship with the Father Stephen Smith and her pastors and friends at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church. Kathie's childhood was experienced in many different cities and towns, going to some 13 different schools, where she learned to make fast friends armed with her special personality and infectious laughter. She attended The Ohio State University where she met her husband John L. Sosna, "Jack". She was a loving, caring mother and best friend. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Alice Thornburgh and loving husband and friend Jack. Kathie is survived by her children, John L. Sosna, Charlie (Leslie) Sosna of Oregon City, OR and Laurie (Doug) Von Doersten; and grandchildren, Zachary Sosna, Page and Justin Sosna and Sean and Taylor Von Doersten; sister, Lucille T. Kropp. Kathie's life will be celebrated in a service at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, 7121 Muirfield Dr., Dublin, Ohio 43017 on Wednesday, January 14 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the church to share stories and offer consolation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kobacker House/Hospice. Arrangements by EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL. We will miss our constant conversations and visits, her fun loving spirit, her laughter and her words of wisdom (When all else fails, ask "Mimi"). Our love for her will forever keep us safe and our fond memories bring a tear, but also a smile and a laugh as we recall our good fortune in being Kathie's sister, son, daughter, grandchild and friend. Our Mother, our "Mimi", our best friend.
