BRENNER S. SIDNEY
Of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Monroeville, on Sunday, January 11, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Sid was a research scientist for many years at the U.S. Steel Research Laboratory and later was a professor of materials science at the University of Pittsburgh. He was the son of Elisabeth and Adolph Brenner, born on February 6, 1927, in Nuremberg, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1941. Avid tennis player and master bridge player, Sid loved hiking, classical music, and traveling the world. He was the beloved husband of Ruth Hurwitz Brenner and the late Suzanne Brenner; brother of Hanne Holsten and the late Elsie Orbach; loving father of Judi (Richard) Wieder, Cindy (Keith) Miller, and Ellen (Bruce) Mottel; adoring Saba of Ben, Michael, Stephanie, Alyson, Brianna, and Madeleine; also survived by stepdaughters, Lane (Steven) Glisson and Barbara Grant and many nieces, nephews, and step- grandchildren. Services at Temple David, 4415 Northern Pike, Monroeville, on Thursday at 12 Noon. Visitation one hour prior to services (11 a.m. - 12 Noon). Interment Temple Sinai Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, INC.

Cindy, I am so sorry for you and your family's loss. I was thinking of you and decided to look for you online when I came across this. I hope you see it. I have lost both of my parents in the last 5 years. It is difficult. Perhaps we can get together sometime when I am in Pittsburgh. Again, my condolences.
