Maudline Ruth Posten (nee Westfall), 96, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, formerly of East Rochester, OH passed away February 8th, 2015. Ruth was born in Lost Creek, W. Va. and is survived by three daughters, Shirley Nahas of Cuyahoga Falls, Carolyn Straight of Tallmadge, Toby Clark of Texas, and two sons, Larry Reed (Elaine) of Barberton, Robert Reed of Ravenna, two sisters, Garnet Eason and Augustine Dobbins, one brother, Dana Westfall, her guardian and former daughter-in-law, Linda (Albert) Ball of Stow, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great–great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Edna Gay Westfall, her son, Thomas Reed, her daughter, Sandy Ewing Bryan, and great-granddaughter, Emma Nahas.

Ruth endured the Great Depression where she worked in the family owned glass factory in Jane Lew, W. Va. while developing skills in cooking, sewing and gardening which she loved. She later moved to the Akron area in the early 1940’s (during World War II) where she became a Rosie the Riveter. She worked a number of years at Swenson’s, and spent 25 yrs. at Lake Forest Country Club from where she retired as, “Master of the Kitchen.”. She loved making quilts, camping and flea marketing and her dogs.

Special thanks is extended to all of Ruth’s caregivers from National Church Residences Hospice and the STNA’s and nurses from the Hampton Hills Memory Care Unit who not only provided care and comfort, but showered her with love.

Cremation has taken place, as per her wishes – no services will be held.
