LATTIMORE- JoAnne Peterson Williams, 80, of Lattimore, formerly of Rutherfordton, passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015.
JoAnne was a member of Lattimore Baptist Church in Lattimore where she was a former member of the choir, a Sunday School bible teacher and was very knowledgeable in his word.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her lord and spent much time in prayer for others.
JoAnne was very dedicated to her family and was a woman of prayer and loved God's word. She retired from Cleveland Memorial Hospital as an emergency room receptionist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Williams; her parents, Sam and Inez Hargett Peterson; two brothers, Ray and Graham Peterson, both of Rutherfordton; and a great grandson, Eli Peoples.
She is survived by three children, Kim Williams Rudasill and husband Rusty of Lawndale, Keith and Catherine Davis Williams of Charlotte and Karen Williams Goode and husband Jeffrey of Oxford; 10 grandchildren, Amber Peoples and husband Eddie, Autumn Goode and fiancée Justin Wilkerson, Ron Goode, Anna and Janie Williams, Hope, Miriam Faith, Jay, Jo Anna and Daniel Rudasill; two special sisters-in-law, Joan Carpenter Peterson of Rutherfordton and Ann Williams Tate of Morganton; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Williams of Forest City.
The family is awaiting the birth of a great grandson, Levi Peoples.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, in the Lattimore Baptist Church with Rev. Court Greene and Dr. Max Burgin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service on Tuesday at the church. A private interment will be held for Mrs. Williams, prior to the service on Tuesday in the church cemetery.

I was so sadden to hear this news yesterday. J.B. and Joanne Williams were two of the finest people I have ever had the priviledge to know. This family is so very special to me and I will continually pray for peace and comfort from Christ for all of you. Love in Christ,
