To this day we miss Cal. Cal worked with our friend Nick Lardas 25 years ago when we were adding on to our new home. Cal and his son Jim and Rob, (I think that was his name) worked on our house for about 10 months. It was a pleasure working with Cal, truly one of the nicest men we have met and worked with. People had all kinds of complaints with people they worked with and it was refreshing to tell them about our experiences.
Over these recent years when things came up about our home and trying to figure it out, we so missed picking up the phone and getting his advice.
We truly miss him and we send prayers that he rests in peace.

Dear Joan and Jim:
We just found out about Cal and we are shocked and saddened. We met Cal in 1996 when we enlarged the house we bought in Ann Arbor. He and Jim were so fabulous, and we felt so fortunate to have them working on our home. We called Cal so many times over the years to ask his opinion about things pertaining to the house. He was such a fine gentleman and he so loved his family. He will surely be missed and we send our heartfelt condolences to the entire family.
Our Love,
Eileen and Saul Hymans

Jim and Sally, I remember Mr. Hoeft form when I used to come out to the house and when I would see him in Midland at the Antique festivel and ask about you guys. My Dad bought the truck camper that was his and we used it for many years after we got it. My Prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time. Gary and Karen Brewer

Joan & family,
Judie & I were very saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Cal. Calvin gave me my first job in the construction business for which I am grateful. He was a easy kind man to work for. He will be missed by many.

I was so sorry to read about Cal's death in this morning's paper. Cal and his crew built the house that I still live in for my late husband, Glenn and me in 1970. It is the house in which we raised our three sons, and it has given us much pleasure over these 44+ years. Thank you Cal--you were a superb builder!

I live across the road from Calvin and his lovely wife. Although we've only met a few times I found Calvin to be one of the most likable people I've ever met. I wish I had got to know him better. It seems there was always a chuckle right behind his easy, ever present grin and a twinkle in his eye that that made you wish you knew his secret to being so happy. I can't help but smile when I think of him. I'll miss him. His Wife and Family are in my thoughts and prayers.
