I did not hear of Walt's passing until 2 days ago. My husband and I knew Walt had been sick for years with good days and bad. I inquired about him when I spoke with another person who knew him. When she told me we lost him over a year ago, I broke down. There was a special place place in my heart for him. We met walt Walt when he worked for a contractor in Ewing. He installed our new windows. When he got sick and could work part-time again,we hired him to do jobs for us.Others did the same.
When my husband became disabled, Walt would stop by from time to time with deer after a day out hunting. He loved hunting as much as my husband did. I saw him infrequently after that, here and there around the area. We always had time to stop and talk. The last time I saw Walt was at Capital Health in Dec. of 2014. He had been visiting his daughter who workedther and I was coming in to visit my husband who was a patient at the time. The last thing he said to me was to expect to get some deer as he was going hunting soon.
Never heard another word.I had no way to get in touch as I wasn't sure where he was living at that time and all I had was an old cellphone number. To his daughter and family,Walt was one of the kindest and gentlest people I ever met. I know he is missed by many. I have no doubt that when he passed he went straight to Heaven. God bless.

For I well know the thoughts that I am thinking toward you. thoughts of peace, and not of calamity, to give you a future and a hope. And you will call me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." Jeremiah 29:11,12.

My condolences to the Voorhees family. I remember Walter from back in the 70s. We lived across the street from the Voorhees family and Walter hung around with my youngest daughter. I remember what a sweet person he was. He once gathered scraps of wood and built a doll house for my daughter. He was a kind and sweet companion to my daughter. RIP Walter. You are remembered fondly.

Lacy & Family: My sincerest heartfelt sympathy to you, your mom and family in your loss and sadness. Walt was truly one of the nicest, caring, loving, generous, honest and loyal gentlemen I have ever met. I cherish the many good times and laughs we shared together. He touched many lives in his positive and pleasant manner. To know him was to love him. Rest in Peace, Brother Walt.
