I was so sad to hear of Vern's passing. I so enjoyed his visits and discussions while I was manager at the VMB. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity for a short visit with Vern on Valentines Day. May he rest in peace in heaven with a nice glass of his favorite red wine !

We knew Vern for 6 months and shared some time with him almost every day at Veterans Memorial Hospital. He enriched our lives as I hope we did his. The happiest we ever saw him were the times we took him in lobster. He always knew we were coming in to see my father and would waiting for us more times than not.
Veteran Memorial just does not seem the same without Vern, he will be missed and remembered. Cathy & Ian MacKenzie
