MCGOVERN Dorothy Cecilia Yacobellis, 84, widow of Joseph F. McGovern, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven February 26, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Arcangelo and Filomena Yacobellis. "Dot" worked for the University of Kentucky Publishing Services. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis (Tony) Gillespie, and Karin (John) Beam; one son, Dennis "Duke" (Claudette) McGovern, all of Lexington, KY; four grandchildren, Dominique "Nikki" Carpenter (Jackie) Sams, Kelly Gillespie (Joseph) Sosby, Paul McGovern and Jonathan Beam; five great grandchildren Hannah and Tate Sams and Carter, Caleb and Cooper Sosby and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Yacobellis; two sisters, Josephine Sciarra and Christine Prestigiacomo, and by three daughters, Darleen Carpenter, Angela "Angie" McGovern and baby Lisa Marie. Funeral services will be held 11am Tue at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 410 Jefferson St, Lexington, KY 40508 by Rev. Norman Fischer. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8pm Mon at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Peter Claver Catholic Church Building Fund.
