Julia Mary Perroncel Heine, a native of New Orleans, was called home by her creator on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the age of 70. Beloved and cherished wife of John Anton Heine. Julia and John celebrated their 5Oth wedding anniversary on October 2, 2014. Beloved and precious mother of Stephanie Heine Mattio, Shawn Heine Staples (husband Bill), Steven John Heine (wife Marcia). Beloved "MeMe" of her precious grandchildren; Maggie and Katie Mattio, Sophia, and Christian Staples, and Jacob and Victoria Heine. They so loved and adored their MeMe. Julia was born Julia Mary Perroncel on October 22, 1944. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Charles and Antoinette Perroncel, her granddaughter Sarah Nicole Staples and son-in-law Michael Mattio. Julia graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1962. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for 27 years and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for 25 years. She has been a member of Atonement Lutheran School. She was employed by Tulane Medical School for 20 years before retiring after Hurricane Katrina. She then volunteered at Tulane Lakeside Hospital and Atonement Lutheran Church and School. Julia's favorite color was purple and she wore it well. Psalm 23 was her favorite scripture and we find comfort in it and our faith. You have given our family strength and love which we will carry in our hearts forever. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. Dear John, Stephanie, Shawn, and Steven,
I was so sorry to hear about the death of Julia/your mom. I know how difficult this is for your entire family. I pray that God will comfort you and give you the strength to go on in this time of great grief. I have fond memories of Julia and the happy days we all spent together at P.O.P Especially, I remember the good times we had with Pastor Tom while being part of the youth group activities. May God continue to bless you and comfort you with the knowledge that Julia is safe and free from all pain in her Heavenly home. God bless all of you. In Christ, Clyde

John, Stephanie, Shawn and Steven...I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Wish I could be there today. Julia was so special... Julia and your family provided some of my best high school moments during our time at Prince of Peace. She will truly be missed. May we all rejoice in the new life that she has now....no more pain or sorrow. Can't wait for her to give me a tour of heaven one day! Miss you all. Love, David.

Julia was a childhood friend of mine and I remember many times going to her home on Claiborne (I lived a few blocks away on Alvar Street). Once she had a cyst removed from her hand and I have fond memories of visiting her in the hospital and holding her hand when she came home to rest. Unfortunately, time takes away many things but not the fond memories of childhood friends. My sincere condolences to John, her children and family.

Julia Mary and I were playmates as little girls. She lived on Claiborne and I lived at the corner on Poland. I have so many fond memories of her and our childhood antics. I have a great pic of the two of us in our bobby sox and rolled up jeans, looking 50's cool. dL

John, Julia will always be remembered for her love of family, church and you. The memories of her as a neighbor will always be with a smile, as she always had a way of looking at things that made you smile. How she could say something and with a twist in her voice, you know what she was implying. She was a great lady and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. May prayers comfort you in this difficult time, but know she is at peace with the Lord.

Ms. Julia was a beautiful and kind woman. I have many precious memories of her- from sleepovers at the house w/ Shawn (I remember being so tickled that we drank Coke with our eggs in the morning-radical!) to working with her at Tulane. Peace to you all.

Julia, you will be missed by so many. You have been a wonderful friend, and always so much fun to be with. Your and John's relationship is one to be envied. And no matter how you felt, you continued to push forward with your family, friends and volunteer work. We have lost an angel for now, but we will see you again. Thank you and John so much for all that you've done for my dear parents and for me. I miss you already, and send much love. God bless your sweet family who loves you so.
