Sarah “Sally” L. (Morris) Bennett QUEENSBURY - Sarah “Sally” L. (Morris) Bennett, 86, formerly of Ballston Spa, passed away on March 01, 2015, at the West Mount Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ballston Spa, NY, on March 31, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Sarah (Johnson) Morris. She attended Ballston Spa Central School. She was a seamstress by trade, and later went to work as a manager of Karmel Korn, in the Aviation mall. Sally married the love of her life, M. Stuart Bennett, on April 23, 1972, in Fort Edward, with the Justice of the Peace, David McDougal as the officiant. Sarah and Stuart spent forty three happy years together. Sarah enjoyed activities such as cooking, gardening and playing BINGO. Her most favorite past times were spending time with her grandchildren, her family and friends, and especially, the trips to Maine her and her husband shared throughout the years. Besides her parents Sally is predeceased by her first husband, Dennison J. Burdick; her son, Dale Burdick; her brothers Lewis Morris, Gordon Morris and Steven Morris; as well as her sisters, Dorothy Dreher, Bessie Springer, Loretta Palmateer and Corabelle Morris; a sister who passed away during childhood, as well as her granddaughter, Danielle Burdick. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, M. Stuart Bennett, of Queensbury, NY; her sons, Dennison J. Burdick II, of Ballston Spa, NY, Dean J. Burdick, of Wilton, NY, and Daryl J. Burdick, of Queensbury, NY; her sister, Eleanor Harris, of Ballston Spa, NY; her nephew, David Morris, of Fort Anne, NY; her daughters in law, Diane Burdick, Sherri Burdick and Debbie Burdick; her sisters in law, Joan Bennett, Nancy Brockway, Wanda Bennett and Marcia Guffey; her brothers in law, David Bennett and Larry Brockway; her nieces, Larraine Thomas, and Dawn Woodruff; her grandchildren, Daniel, SarahAnn, DJ, Dennine, and Drew Burdick, Shauna and Cara Burdick, as well as several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Family wishes to thank the staff at West Mount Nursing Home for their exceptional care of Sarah over the last year and a half. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday March 5, 2015 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, N.Y. 12828.
