Sheila Dawn Canoy Auten HUNTERSVILLE - Mrs. Sheila Dawn Canoy Auten, 58, of Huntersville, NC died Tuesday March 3, 2015, at Levine Dickson Hospice House. Born April 21, 1956 in High Point, NC she was the daughter of Luisa Troncone Canoy of Sophia, NC and the late Lloyd Enos Canoy. She graduated from Trinity High School in 1974 and was elected "Miss Trinity" in 1973. Shelia was retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System, was an assistant scuba instructor and accomplished pianist. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius, NC. Burial will be conducted 2:30 p.m. at Flint Hill Community Cemetery, Flint Hill, NC. The family will receive friends Thursday evening 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She is survived by her mother, Luisa Canoy of Sophia, NC; her husband, Brice Auten; sons, Rob, Chris and Tyler Auten of Huntersville, NC; brothers, Leo and Larry Canoy; sister, Lori Weatherman (Tommy) all of Sophia, NC; eight nieces and nephews and two great nieces and nephews. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her sister, Marisa Canoy. Memorials may be made to M.D.S., 1500 Pinecroft Avenue Suite 109, Greensboro, NC 27407, American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207 or Levine Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
