CHICAGO/CASSVILLE, WI- Kenneth J. Bauman, age 80, passed away on March 7, 2015. He was born in Chicago, IL on September 2, 1934, the son of Erwin and Amelia (Wadesky) Bauman. Ken was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. With his wonderful wit and personality, he was a very special man. Ken graduated from Lane Tech High School, where he lettered in Varsity Football and Basketball. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, he received his BS degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Parks College. His career began as an engineer with TWA and American Airlines. Always a gifted and talented carpenter, he later started Debka Contracting Company. He retired in Cassville, Wisconsin, "Where the elite meet to eat." Ken was a gourmet cook, avid skier, fisherman, photographer and great storyteller. He loved his family more than anything. Ken is survived by his daughters Debbie (Carl) Appleton and Karen (Thomas) Huismann; grandchildren, Karly and Connor; sister, Melba (Herman) Engelmann; nephews, Jeffrey and Michael; and niece, Julie. Kenneth was preceded in death by both his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, alz.org. A viewing and service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015, at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel at IRVING PARK CEMETERY, 7777 Irving Park Road, Chicago, IL. Ken was like a second father to me and I miss him terribly. He was the best father-in-law a guy could possibly have. I had the honor of knowing him for almost 40 years. God bless you, Ken.
