Patrick John Sonnier
CARENCRO - Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Patrick John Sonnier, age 78, of Oxford, AL who went to be with his Lord on March 4, 2015. He was born on May 4, 1936 in Lafayette and has lived in Oxford, AL for the past forty-three years.
Pat graduated from Carencro High School in 1955. He worked at Schlumberger before moving to Alabama. He was in the National Guard Armory and retired from Anniston Army Depot. He was a man who loved deep-sea fishing, hunting, Braves baseball, working out and spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters. He had a way of making people feel special and appreciated and will be greatly missed by all. He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty nine years, Greta D. Sonnier of Oxford, one daughter, Angelle Sonnier Smith and her husband, Dwight, of Weaver, AL; two granddaughters, Arlevia and Emily Smith; three sisters, Janice Martin and her husband, George, of Carencro, Claire M. Sonnier of Carencro and Dena Longcrier and her husband, Henry, of Lafayette; two brothers, Harold Sonnier and his wife, Laura, of Carencro and Jimmie Sonnier and his wife, Louella, of Lafayette; one sister-in-law, Lana Dial Osborn of Anniston, AL; and several special nieces and nephews.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro.
