Louise Bishop Salot, 85, of Colonial Heights passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday March 12, 2015. She was born in Petersburg, Virginia, on February 9, 1930, to the late Robert Benjamin and Alma Louise Clark Bishop, and was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Eley and three brothers, Melvin Bishop, Russell Bishop, and Leroy Bishop. Mrs. Salot was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and a special Petersburg High School reunion group. She loved to laugh and loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 61 ½ years, William J. Salot; a daughter, Sue Williams and husband Tom; two sons, Jeff Salot, David Salot and wife Brenda; a grandson, Cody LaRue; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia. A funeral procession will leave the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The family will receive friends Monday, March 16, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Ave, Colonial Heights, VA 23834 .Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.

I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't know your mother but she must have been a wonderful woman to raise such a wonderful son. I'm sure she had a joyous life and that joy will continue in Heaven. I wish I could do more to help, but my thoughts and prayers are with you.
