Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Ivy John "Bruce" Broussard, age 83, who passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at 8:50 p.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Mark Ledoux, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Mr. Broussard was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Carencro. He retired from Slick Construction in Eunice for over fifteen years. Survivors include his wife of fifty nine years, Rousella Richard Broussard; three sons, Ricky Broussard of Duson, Timmy Broussard and Ivy John Broussard, Jr. both of Lafayette; three daughters, Kathy Chiasson and her husband, Clarence, of Carencro, Judy Johnson and her husband, Tracy, of Scott and Ruby Alvarez and her husband, Tony, of Breaux Bridge; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Broussard of Carencro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Broussard and the former, Ortense Blanchard; and two sisters. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Friday until service time on Friday. Pallbearers will be Ricky Broussard, Timmy Broussard, Ivy John Broussard, Jr., Tony Alvarez, Kevin Arceneaux and Adam Chiasson. Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Chiasson and Tracy Johnson.
