ROBERT DALE FLUGUM
July 1, 1938 - March 16, 2015
Robert Dale Flugum of Dallas, Oregon died Monday, March 16, 2015 at the age 76. He was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota on July 1, 1938 to Oscar & Emma (Davidson) Flugum. After high school Robert joined the Navy with his best friend on the "Buddy System," Charlie Scrabeck. He spent four years in the Navy before taking a job with IBM after seeing an ad in the Minneapolis newspaper for employment in Los Angeles, CA. IBM trained him and he spent the rest of his career with them as a Customer Engineer and at one point even volunteered at the Atlanta Olympic Games on their behalf. He married Barbara Grimm in Fullerton, California on August 12, 1966 and together they had two children; David and Kathy who would both tell you, "Dad was very proud of his Norweigen heritage and left-handedness." Robert enjoyed singing in various choirs, golfing, woodworking and loved to travel. He is survived by his wife, his children, brothers Virgil & Rolland Flugum, sisters Fern Wahlers & Irene Sletton and 2 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11am, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dallas, Oregon. A private interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Contributions can be made to: Trinity Lutheran Church or Parkinson's Resources of Oregon.

Barbara, My heart so goes out to you and to your children, David and Kathy upon this sad loss of your husband their father. While I never had the opportunity to meet him, I have been blessed by the sharing of your journey with him through the process of Parkinsons Disease. Please know that you are all in my heart, my thoughts and my prayers.
