Roy C. Edens, Jr. MONCKS CORNER - Roy Clayton Edens, Jr., 72, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired sales service engineer for Albany International, died Thursday evening at his residence. His memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday morning, March 28, 2015, in the St. Michael Lutheran Church, according to Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the St. Michael Lutheran Church, 321 W. Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461, the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Rd., Ste. 504, N. Charleston, SC 29406, or to a charity of one's choice. Mr. Edens was born August 17, 1942, in Knightsville, SC, a son of Roy Clayton Edens, Sr., and Dorothy Knight Edens. He was a member of the St. Michael Lutheran Church. He graduated from Clemson University with a BS in textile management. He obtained his master's degree in business management, while employed at Albany International. He was a member of the SC Jaycees, Lions Club, and the Berkeley Lodge #269 AFM. Mr. Edens was involved in many youth programs, including coaching little league baseball and football. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building projects, carving, traveling, and camping. Surviving are, his wife of 51 years, Harriet "Teeka" Wood Edens; a daughter, Janie Martin and her husband, Al, of Moncks Corner; a son, Clay Edens of Greenville; two sisters, Patsy Cribb and her husband, Jack, of Bonneau, and Esther Cribb and her husband, Gene, of Moncks Corner; two brothers, Tommy Edens and his wife, Vicki, and Joey Edens and his wife, Terri, all of Moncks Corner; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step-great- grandchildren; and many close nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
