SMITH DEVOTA J. SMITH, age 84, of Medina, passed away Sunday, April 05, 2015 in Medina. She was born October 4, 1930 in Waynesburg, PA to the late Fred and Averyl Wilson. Devota loved reading, sewing, cooking, and gardening. Devota was the loving mother of Linda (Louis) Buza, Ronald R. Smith, James D. (Marne) Smith, Karyn (Jeffrey) Miner, Aaron Smith and Bryan D. (Cassie) Smith; dear grandmother of Jennifer (James) Buchanan, Jason (Sarah) Buza, James Andrew Smith, John Tyler Smith, Elizabeth Rachel (Christopher) Latta, Jennifer Miner, Christine Miner, Janet Miner and Stacie (Daniel) Weddel, and Piper Smith; great-grandson Evan Cole Buza; sister Marlene (Calvin) Finch. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James E. Smith, to whom she was married 61 years; her daughter Elizabeth Smith, son John Richard Smith. Services will be held Thursday, April 9, at 7:00 P.M. at the WAITE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Pastor Mark Campo will officiate. Family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Medina Co., 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina 44256.
