Mary M. Pennington
MARYSVILLE: Mary M. Pennington, 101, died Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Memorial Gables.
A member of the Raymond United Methodist Church, Mary was also a member of the Plain City Daughters of the American Revolution, the Ross County Genealogical Society and retired from the O.M. Scotts Company where she worked in the Subscription Department.
Born February 21, 1914 in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Nelson Nolan and Mary (True) Thornton. On May 6, 1937 she married Carl Pennington and he preceded her in death on October 9, 1976. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Thornton and a nephew, Tom Thornton.
Surviving are her niece, Twyla (James) Elliott of West Mansfield; nephew, David (Jean) Thornton of Raymond; great nephews, Kelly and Patrick Thornton and Todd Lane; great niece, Trisha (Michael) Duncan and great, great nieces and nephew, Connor and Kelsey Thornton and Nikki and Jessie Duncan.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Church Triumphant, Chillicothe, OH with Reverend Brandi Rigsby officiating. Burial will follow at White Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Mannasmith Funeral Home 621 W. Fifth St. Marysville, OH where a Daughter's of the American Revolution Service will be held at 5:30 P.M.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Activities Fund at Memorial Gables in care of the funeral home and condolences may be expressed to the family at www.mannasmithfuneralhome.com
