Phyllis Easter Armold, 86, of Iroquois passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
Phyllis was born May 22, 1928 in Watseka, the daughter of Arthur and Agnes McCarty Easter and they preceded her in death in addition to an infant brother.
She married Harry Dale Armold on April 16, 1950 in Iroquois and he preceded her in death on November 2, 2006.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Geneva Armold of Iroquois; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Tom Griswold of DeKalb; three grandchildren, Charles and Gina Armold of Ashkum, Maxine and Eric Martell of Beaverville and Kristin Griswold of Washington, DC; five great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Brian Kohn of Ashkum, Austin Sommers of Kankakee, Amanda Armold of Ashkum, Rebecca Martell of Beaverville and Tyler Martell of Beaverville.
Mrs. Armold was a member of the Iroquois United Methodist Church, American Nurses Association, Association of Operating Room Nurses and American Cancer Society. She was past president of United Methodist Women, past matron Silver Ray Chapter Order of Eastern Star, American Red Cross Instructor, Township Officials of Illinois Zone Director and Clerk of Concord Township. Phyllis graduated from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in 1949 and was a registered nurse at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon. Vicki Killus will officiate. Burial will be at Morris Chapel Cemetery in Iroquois.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice, Iroquois Methodist Church or for the family's wishes.
