PATTON, Frank Cyril Thomas
On Monday, April 13, 2015, Frank Cyril Thomas Patton passed away the age of 81 years. Frank was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on August 20, 1933 and came to Edmonton in 1951 when he was 18. He worked for Pacific Western Airlines, which later became Air Canada, for 34 years. His job took Marie and him to Vancouver, Calgary and then back to Vancouver before retiring early at the age of 57. After Frank retired, they moved to their acreage north of Edmonton where he loved caring for the acreage, gardening, feeding the birds, rabbits, and deer, as well as golfing, fishing and listening to music. He enjoyed hosting family barbecues and was affectionately known as Uncle Pink by many nieces and nephews.
Most of all he loved Marie, his wife of 60 years, his grandson, Joe Cruickshank (Kelly Dennis) and his little darling, great- granddaughter, Kiyla Cruickshank-Miller. He is also missed by his brother, Ron (Carol); special nieces and nephews: Greg (Linda) Sams, Randy (Bonnie) Sams, Vicky (Les) Jingling, Margolee Horn, and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Diane Marie; his parents: John and Gertrude Patton; brothers and sisters: Vera Stern, Ed, Reg, Harry, Edna Murphy, and Ruby Green; and nephew, Barry Horn.
As per Frank's wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place and a family interment will follow at a later date at Peaceful Pines Cemetery in Rochester, Alberta.
