LINCOLN - Joseph Norbert Gemme passed away April 14, 2015, in Seminole, FL. He was born September 15, 1932, in Lincoln, Maine, to Joseph and Barbara Gemme.
He graduated from Howland High School, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, was employed by Lincoln Pulp and Paper for 35 years and retired as a foreman of the Tissue Mill. Joseph was a Mason and a Shriner. He belonged to Horeb Lodge No. 93 of Lincoln, the Lodge Council Chapter of Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Bangor, Anah Shriners and the Northern Penobscot Shrine Club. He was also a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Lewis Gemme; his daughter, Lew-Ann Cooley and her husband, George; his daughter, Tamara Henderson and her husband, Harold; his brother, Maurice Gemme and his wife, Barbara; many nieces and nephews.
Joseph spent winters in Florida and summers at the lake in Lincoln. He loved to dance. He loved music. He loved to pick berries and he loved to win at cards.
He will be cremated and a simple service will be held this summer at the lake. Those who wish may sign an online register and leave written condolences at www.clayfuneralhome.com.
