Arthur Dudley Obituary

Arthur Dudley 87, passed on to a more peaceful place on Monday, April 13, 2015. He was a resident of Port Orange, FL and previously lived for many years in Hudson, MA where he raised his family with his wife, Mary. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending his days teaching his family the virtues of hard work, responsibility and having fun. He endlessly talked about his "four beautiful daughters" to the point where the neighbors would run the other away when they saw him coming. He was loved by his family and many friends and neighbors. Arthur was born on March 24, 1928 in Cambridge, MA and grew up on a farm in Wayland, MA. He joined the Army Air Corps and was a Veteran of World War II. The Army Air Corps soon learned Arthur's ways and stationed him in Alaska, as an Electronic Technician. This is where Arthur learned to really hate the cold weather and vowed to someday leave the cold behind. He worked at Raytheon for 40 years and was an Electronic Technician, a member of the IBEW, as well as union steward. He moved from Hudson, MA to Port Orange, FL where he and his wife, Mary soon made many friends. He was an avid (if not talented) Horseshoe player and belonged to the Port Orange Horseshoe Club. He had a fun sense of humor and many members from the horseshoe club will remember him as "Cuddley Dudley." Arthur leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Mary, his four daughters, Cheryl Merino, Elaine Millett, Sandy Flynn, and Sue Hendessi along with many loving grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will be Saturday, April 18 at 1:00 with a gathering from 12:00 till the time of the service at the Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lohman funeralhomes.com. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange.
