Susanna E. "Sue" Philbin, 57, of Duryea died unexpectedly Friday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. "Rusty" and Inez Levy Philbin. She was a 1976 graduate of Bishop Klonowski High School. Sue attended the University of Scranton, and was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea. For many years, she worked at Prudential Asset Management as a program analyst. She enjoyed doing sudoku, crocheting, arts and crafts, and whitewater rafting, with her many dear friends. Her two nieces had a special place in her heart, and she enjoyed spoiling them.
Surviving are two aunts, Mary A. Philbin, Scranton; and Aunt Tillie Boyd, Painted Post, N.Y.; two sisters, Mary Catherine Soltis and husband, Michael, Old Forge; and Lu Ann Bartosch and husband, Larry, Colorado Springs; two nieces, Lyndsay Soltis, Cincinnati; and Sarah Bartosch, Colorado Springs; cousins and many dear friends.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., Scranton, by the Rev. Francis Pauselli. Interment will be private in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Minooka section of Scranton.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
