LORAIN - Letroy Harris, Sr., 86, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015, in Mercy New Life Hospice following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Harris was born Sept. 16, 1928, in Parkin, Arkansas, and had lived Lorain since 1956.
He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Lorain where he served as a former Trustee of the church. He retired as a crane operator from U.S Steel after 31 years of service. He was also a member of the Union Local 1104. He enjoyed fishing, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Mr. Harris is survived by his sons, Letroy Harris, Jr., of Toledo, James Davis of Chicago, James Harris of Kansas City, and Earl (Kelly) Harris of Lorain; daughters, Conde Reese of Lorain, and Franchesca Revels of Columbus; a host of grandchildren; one brother, Rommie Harris of Lorain; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Harris (nee Daivs); parents, Robert Sr. and Mable Harris (nee McDaniel); brothers, James L. Harris, Sr., Isaiah Harris, Tommie L. Harris, Sr., and Robert L. Harris, Jr.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church 2160 Reeves Ave Lorain, Ohio, with Reverend John R. Jackson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
