AUGUSTA, Ga. - Richard "Butch" Pinson, 64, husband of the late Julie Christmas Pinson, entered into rest Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM, from Friendship United Methodist Church with Reverend Steve Melcher officiating. Mr. Pinson will lie in state from 10:00 until the hour of service, at the church. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mr. Pinson was born in Augusta to the late William and Mary Masters Pinson. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and worked for Kelly Trucking. He is survived by his sons, Troy and his wife, Tina, Pinson of Augusta, Raymond Pinson, and Jason Pinson, both of Hephzibah; grandchildren, Kevin M. Pinson, Jessica Pinson Smith, Alison M. Pinson, Savannah M. Pinson, Jason J. Pinson, Kaylea G. Pinson, Kaitleen E. Pinson and Morgan Pinson; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Marie Pinson, Kennedy Rae Pinson, Brayden Ray Smith; sisters, Louise Goetzman of Hephzibah, Sherlyn DePuy of North Augusta, SC, Brenda Largen of Matthews, Shelia Clifford of Cynthiana, KY and Barbara Melcher of Harlem. Pallbearers will be Johnny Grubbs, Hunter Grubbs, Ted Russell Collins, Mark Sorrells, Lance Pinson and Joey Bagwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be his childhood friends from Harrisburg Community. i was raised many years ago with Butch and his sisters...Mary was a very sweet lady and i remember many good times as a child....a horse that ate hair and a bull chasing us just to name a couple..may god bless his family.
