Kathleen (Kay) Lewis Kutish, 95, a resident of Forty Fort, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, April 27, 2015, at her home.
Her beloved husband was the late Dr. Edward S. Kutish, V.M.D., who passed away Dec. 1, 1989.
Born March 9, 1920, in Plains Township, Kathleen was one of eight children born to the late Daniel William Lewis and Bridget Ann Callahan Lewis.
Raised in Plains Township, Kay was a graduate of the former Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1938. Following high school, she went on to further her education at College Misericordia.
Prior to her retirement, Kay was employed for 44 years as a veterinary assistant to her husband, Dr. Edward S. Kutish, V.M.D., at his practice in Wilkes-Barre.
Kay was an avid gardener who loved to supply her neighborhood with vegetables and flowers.
She loved to travel, and her travels included a trip on the QE2 to Normandy to celebrate the 50th anniversary of D-Day. Kay also enjoyed football and was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan who attended the 1960 World Championship. She also had the opportunity to go to the 1995 Rose Bowl to see Penn State University, where she had the opportunity to meet Joe Paterno. Most of all, she enjoyed having her family and friends to her home, where she would bake her delicious breads.
In addition to her parents, Daniel and Bridget Lewis, and her husband, Dr. Edward, Kay was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis Lewis, Jay Lewis, Daniel Lewis, Ph.D., the Rev. Raymond P. Lewis, C.M., and the Rev. Harry J. Lewis, and her sisters, Sister Irma Lewis, R.S.M., and Jane Lloyd.
Kay is survived by her children, Lois Kutish, Trucksville; Richard Kutish and his wife, Ann, Mountain Top; Dr. Paul Kutish and his wife, Alice Rae, Kingston; and Joseph Kutish and his wife, Karen, Forty Fort; and her six grandchildren, Christopher, Atlanta, Ga.; Taryn, Philadelphia; Stacey, Philadelphia; Matthew, Kingston; and Russell and Vaughn Kutish, Forty Fort.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will be conducted at 9:15 a.m. Friday from Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Parish, 66 Willow St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Robert J. Kelleher, pastor, officiating.
Interment will privately follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Deepest sympathy to all of Kay's family, this woman was so very loved and such an incredible joy! I will treasure the memories of fun and laughter with the amazing "Kathleen Delphine", heaven is certainly in for a treat. Special prayers to my beloved "framily"... Joe, Karen, Russell, and Vaughn, not sure words can explain, but know you are in my constant thoughts, through this difficult time, and always. Let's try to remember the blessing of having the very best next-door neighbor ever. Love you.
