MARYSVILLE – Helen Maxine Dixon, 93, of Marysville, died Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Carriage Court.
A 1939 graduate of Marysville High School, Helen was first and foremost a homemaker to her daughters and husband, worked as a telephone operator and bank teller many years ago, but mostly worked side by side with her husband on the farm. A member of the Marysville Church of the Nazarene, she formerly attended the Richwood First Baptist Church. An avid reader, she loved animals, always caring for strays, was a generous and loving mother and a great listener, always supportive of her friends.
Born August 9, 1921, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mabel (Hinderer) Holtsberry. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clarence, whom she married in 1946.
Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Carcone of Marysville and Judy (Robert) Denune of Mechanicsburg, and her "adopted" daughter, Leta (Wilson) Montgomery.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the MANNASMITH FUNERAL HOME with Reverend Kristie Payne officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Broadway Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Union County Humane Society or the Marysville Church of the Nazarene.
