Ronald E. Hinz
AGE: 65 • Matawan
Ronald E. Hinz, 65, of Matawan, passed away, Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, with his family by his side. Born in Newark, he resided in Roselle and Belford, moving to Matawan 45 years ago. He worked as an auto body painter with Lentz Auto Body, Belford, for 40 years. He was a member of the Jersey Dream Machines Car Club. Ronald served his country proudly with the U.S. Marine Corp as a Corporal during Vietnam with the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Evelyn (Matz) Hinz. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Carol (Raynis) Hinz; two loving daughters, Carie Thoroughman and her husband Eric; and Cheryl Cortopassi and her husband Matthew; and four cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Robert and Adrianna Cortopassi and Jayce Thoroughman. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited Wednesday, May 6, 2015, from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; and Thursday, May 7, 2015, 10:30AM at the funeral home, with an 11:30AM service at Matawan United Methodist Church, 478 Atlantic Ave., Aberdeen, NJ 07747. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ronald's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or the Matawan United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
