Jimmie Jean Cumpton, 88 years of age, passed away May 2, 2015 in Boise, ID. Jimmie was born in Clovis, New Mexico to Jessie Ledbetter Bailey and James Bailey, the third of 4 children. Jimmie, a devoted wife and mother, was married to her lifelong sweetheart, Noel, for 68 years. Noel passed away December 25, 2014.
Jimmie had a kind gentle soul and cared deeply for her family and friends. She is survived by their 4 children and their families, Duane and Elise Cumpton, Linda and Harold Whittier, Vickie Napier, and Jan and Tom Preston; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In their early retirement years they enjoyed traveling around the States. Her favorite place to visit was historical Washington DC. Jimmie was a loving grandmother and a wonderful cook who loved preparing meals and having family dinners for all to enjoy. Jimmie is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 N. Latah St., Boise. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
