Beverly J. "Bev" Felix, 87
Beverly J. "Bev" Felix, 87, of Logansport, passed away at 2:18 a.m. Friday,
May 8, 2015, at Woodbridge Health Campus.
Born November 3, 1927, in Menno, South Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Frederick August and Mabel (Christopherson) Rittershaus.
Following her high school graduation, Bev went to Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She moved to Milwaukee to accept her first job as an assistant to a doctor at the Marquette University Dental School.
On Feb. 15, 1964, in Logansport, she was married to Robert E. Felix. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1981.
For seventeen years, Bev worked at the Sunoco gas station at the corner of Main and Burlington Streets.
Bev was a member of the Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church and served as director of the church children's choir. She was very active as an officer in the Elizabeth Circle at church as well as many other church activities. She also served as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital for many years.
She loved to travel. Bev also enjoyed puzzles, reading, cooking and painting.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law Tim and Kris Felix of Indianapolis; one daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Chris Mazur of Cary, Illinois; two grandchildren Greta and Caleb; one sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Carroll Olm of Whitewater, Wisconsin; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Francis Rittershaus.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Bev Felix will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12th in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Carolyn DeWitt officiating.
A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cass County Carousel Corporation or the James Felix Optimist 5/10K Memorial Run. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
