William H. "Bill" Spencer, 72, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away at 5:45pm, Monday, May 11, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Bill was born December 21, 1942 in Grayville, IL the son of the late Edwin and Carolyn (Pritchett) Spencer.
Bill served in the United States Army, then worked for IBM for 32 years. He was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed photography, travel, gardening and tinkering on the computer.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Joyce (Mooney) Spencer of Newburgh, IN; two daughters Carol Lesh (Robert) of Newburgh, IN and Kathy Hartz (Bob) of Evansville, sister Mary "Sue" Tice of Grayville, IL., brother Ernest Spencer (Susan) of Champaign, IL. and sister-in-law Sharon Spencer of Grayville, IL., three grandchildren Austin Lesh, Rachel Lesh and Jacob Hartz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Spencer.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Friday, May 15, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel -A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Jerry Clark officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Newburgh where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will perform full Military Rites.
Friends may call from 3 pm until 7 pm, Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home and again from 9 am until time of service at 10 am, Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Warrick County Habitat for Humanity 10622 Telephone Rd., Chandler, IN 47610 and Student Christian Fellowship, 440 S. Weinbach Ave, Evansville, IN 47714.
