Kenneth James Caterina
AGE: 90 • Vineland
Kenneth James Caterina, 90, a lifelong resident of Vineland, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2015, at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland. He was born in Vineland on July 21, 1924. He was born during the Depression and worked on a farm to help support the family. He attended Vineland High School and honored by the Vineland High School Football's team. Kenneth served in the United States Navy as a Coxswain in WWII where he received the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon, The American Theatre Ribbon and the Victor Medal. At the Semper Marine Hall in Vineland, he was inducted into the "Greater Vineland Baseball League Hall of Fame" he also made his professional boxing appearance in 1947. Kenny, as he was known by many, retired as a Vineland Utility Supervisor after forty years of service. His greatest pride was in keeping a loving home and providing for his five children. He enjoyed family parties, singing songs, playing the guitar and banjo. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and a friend to anyone who knew him.
Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, Peter & Ethel (Gurt) Caterina; brothers, Lloyd and Gennard Caterina. He married in February 12, 1949 to the late Virginia Donato Albano Caterina.
Kenneth is survived by his five children, Michael Caterina of Hammonton; Alan Caterina of Vineland; Beth Ann Caterina of Miami, FL; Karl Caterina of Vineland and his son Neal Caterina of Estelle Manor he is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service and Burial will be held Monday at 11:00 am from Sacred Heart Garden Mausoleum Chapel, 741 E Walnut Rd, Vineland.
ARRANGEMENTS are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360.

To the Caterina family. I was very fortunate to know your mom for a long time n net ur dad several times. Both very good people. I was at ur patents home n getting ready to leave n saw it dad dancing near the garage. I smiled n ur mom said he imagines he is dancing with me. It was so touching. You could feel the love between the Two of them. so very for ur loss. The two of them are now dancing together again in heaven! God bless
